From the Principal

Principal Lisa Clark

Kia ora Koutou. I have the privilege of being appointed to the position of Principal at our fantastic school and it is my pleasure to warmly welcome you. I was sincerely moved this morning as our fantastic school and community welcomed myself and our new students.  Thank you to everyone, the students sung beautifully and with such pride for our school.  They are truly a gift to us all.

I was born and raised in Whanganui but remember many roadtrips with my Grandfather to Ohakune as a young one.

I have begun my journey at Ohakune Primary School this year after 17 years at my previous school and I am very fortunate to be working alongside such exceptional, caring teachers and support staff and our wonderful kids.

My belief is that we need to provide an environment that supports and nurtures our young people and in doing so they will be happy, safe and achieve at their potential.   What an environment to do so with our Maunga standing beside us.

I am married with four exceptional children aged  24, 24, 23 and 14 and we have just been blessed with our first grandchild.  I love spending time with my whanau and friends, travelling and I look forward to contributing to such a fantastic community.

Learning is lifelong and supporting others is at my core.  I look forward to welcoming you to our school.
